// SPOILERS // Jirel realizing that she's fallen in love with the man who has not only killed her comrades, but abused her and threatened to assault her didn't sit right with me. I can respect her having regrets for her actions in the end, but again, didn't sit right with me.

I'll write a longer review later, but WOW. What a book. I'll admit, the first half was rather slow for me. It was frusturating in a way that a lot of classic sci-fi is, using unfamiliar made-up terminology and cultural norms without explanation. However, once I hit that halfway point and the real journey began, I truly couldn't put the book down.
A really really interesting read, especially as someone who identifies as agender & asexual. Definitely give it a try if you're into sci-fi and gender criticism.
